Sanjay Leela Bhansali Dreams of 2000 episodes of Saraswatichandra
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut TV program Saraswatichandra is finally on air and therefore the director-producer hopes that it completes a pair of 2000 episodes.
An adaptation of Govardhanram Madhavaram Tripathi’s novel, the show went live Monday on Star and. Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget are lead actors in it.
“I just have one wish that we make a good serial, actors do a good job and it runs for 2000 episodes and may it become the biggest and most memorable serial,” the 50-year-old said here in an interview.
Saraswatichandra is a modern yet traditional young man. To know more about his different character traits don’t forget to tune into Saraswatichandra, starting 25th February Monday to Friday at 7:30
We are sure the soap opera will have great production values, the actors will do a decent job too and it will indeed go a long way. But will Saraswatichandra run for seven years, which is how long it would take to last as long as Bhansali wants – now that is a debatable topic, don’t you think?
Imagine watching a show that is essentially a blend of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas for seven long years! Frankly, we can’t even picture it in our heads…in a manner of speaking, that is.
So far Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has been the longest running serial on Indian television with 1,833 episodes.
It went on air in 2000 and ran till 2008.
